The company, founded by independent music promoter Peter Shapiro, uses various ATEM mixers, HyperDeck recorders, Videohub arrays, SmartView monitors, DeckLink cards and other devices at approximately 500 shows per year.
Dayglo Presents has used products from Blackmagic Design para sus producciones en directo y transmisiones de contenidos por Internet, dentro de las que se encuentran giras y conciertos, llevados a cabo en sus espacios, de artistas tales como Vulfpeck, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trey Anastasio Band, Dead & Company, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, The Marcus King Band y Chuck Leavell.
Dayglo Presents, a New York-based live music and media company founded by independent music promoter Peter Shapiro, uses different mixers ATEM, recorders HyperDeck, matrices Videohub, monitors SmartView, cards DeckLink and other devices in approximately 500 shows per year in different projects and venues.
These include shows at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Civic Theatre, Gramercy Theater, Apollo Theater, LOCKN’ Festival and The Scoot Inn, as well as fixtures at The Capitol Theatre, a popular concert venue in Port Chester, New York, and Brooklyn Bowl, a revolutionary integration of premiere music, bowling, food and craft beer from the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group in Williamsburg, New York, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, they have also worked with Relix Media Group, which publishes Relix magazine and specialized music websites, Relix.com and Jambands.com.
Dayglo Presents collaborated with Austin, Texas-based film and music technology specialist TourGigs to create a mobile audiovisual kit, as well as participate in webcasting solutions for The Capitol Theater and Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.
Jonathan Healey, vice president of marketing and digital strategy at Dayglo Presents, "Dayglo and Relix have a mobile content system that includes the ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K, HyperDeck Studio, DeckLink Studio 4K and 10 HyperDeck Studio Mini recorders. We use them to live stream more than 60 shows, as well as more than 100 videos for Relix Sessions, from Relix Magazine. Content is shared on The Relix Channel, YouTube, Facebook and other social networks.”
Main projects
"Among all of our projects, we're constantly on the go, so we love the flexibility and ease of use of Blackmagic Design products. For example, recently we were in Radio City Music Hall, where we use the portable system to Easy Rider Live, an event celebrating the film's 50th anniversary. Since there was an orchestra playing the feature film's soundtrack live, the ATEM switcher was essential for switching between the film material and the enlarged images,” he says.
"We also take advantage of the newly introduced HyperDeck Studio Mini for stand-alone recording. When we're not using them on tour, they're at The Capitol Theatre," adds Healey.
For its part, The Capitol Theatre, a historic theater with a capacity for 1,800 people, uses SmartView Duo devices to monitor the material and a 20x20 Smart Videohub to distribute the signals to the 17 monitors located in different parts of the venue. In turn, the HyperDeck Studio Mini complement the work dynamics, since they allow isolated recordings for the 10-camera system.
A similar approach was taken in Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, where there are more than 32 bowling lanes, in addition to the space for shows with capacity for 2,000 people. An ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K mixer, an ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel device and five HyperDeck Studio recorders allow the shows to be broadcast live on social networks, as well as to capture and send the signals to the 45 screens located throughout the venue, within which there is a 30 m audiovisual wall at the end of each track.
"We also used DaVinci Resolve Studio in post-production, which allowed us to select shots for the artists and various service providers. I used Blackmagic Design products everywhere, simply because they work perfectly. They have exceptional performance and are very affordable, and we are always looking for new ways to continue tackling new projects," concludes Healey.
