'Pain and Glory' will compete for the BAFTA for best foreign language film
Almodóvar's film, which will represent Spain at the 92nd edition of the Oscars, also has 16 nominations for the Goya awards, 10 for the Feroz, 5 for the Gaudí and 2 for the Forqué.
The movie of Pedro Almodovar, pain and glory, produced by The Desire and participated by RTVE, has been nominated for the BAFTA British Film Awards in the category of best foreign language film.
It will compete with the South Korean Parasites; the french Portrait of a woman on fire, the American The Farewell; and the British For Sama.
The film has also been awarded at the European Film Awards with the award for best actor for Antonio Banderas and best production design. In addition, the film also won Banderas the award at the Cannes Film Festival. Likewise, the Film Academy announced in September that Pain and Glory was selected to represent Spain at the 92nd edition of the Oscars, which will be held in February 2020, and competed this weekend for the Golden Globe in the categories of best film and best actor (Antonio Banderas).

pain and glory, starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz, narrates a series of reunions in the life of Salvador Mallo, a film director in his twilight, some of them physical, and others remembered. The film talks about creation, the difficulty of separating it from one's own life and the passions that give it meaning and hope. In recovering from his past, Salvador finds the urgent need to write again.
