The British Firebird Pictures buys the format of the series “La sala”

The police thriller co-produced by Isla Audiovisual, Funwood Media, and CanCan Producciones has been optioned by the company Firebird Pictures for its adaptation to the United Kingdom, by Elisabeth Kilgarriff.

Firebird Pictures is the company founded in April last year by Kilgarrif with Craig Holleworth after several years working for the BBC.

The series, which in Spain has premiered on HBO and on various FORTA channels (Telemadrid, TV3, ETB...), and which has recently been nominated for best miniseries at the latest MIM awards, is also being distributed internationally by the French company Newen International, and has already been released in various countries.

The Room tells the story of Yago Costa, a prestigious police officer specialized in interrogations, who one day enters the police station where he has been working for years and kills his partner and friend Luis Corbalán. Years later he decides to summon a young journalist to prison to tell her the reasons that led him to commit this atrocious crime. To do this, he will tell you some of the cases that he solved over the years with Luis, and little by little his story will not only give us an answer to this mystery, but will also bring to light a dark network of corruption.

La serie está protagonizada por Francesc Garrido, Goya Toledo, Raúl Prieto y Natalia Rodríguez. Basada en una idea original de Víctor García, Eduardo Villanueva y Manuel Sanabria, entre sus guionistas están también Enrique Lojo, Jorge Valdano, Jon Sagalá y Pablo Barrera. En la producción ejecutiva están Lydia Palencia, Juanjo Marrero, y los propios Víctor García y Manuel Sanabria. Los directores de la serie son Cesar Arriero y Manuel Sanabria.
