'Rolling pages, books go to screens' celebrates its third edition on February 27
The objective of this reference event is to achieve synergies between the audiovisual and publishing sectors, to seek new avenues of exploitation and income and new content ideas.
Next Thursday February 27 The third edition of Rolling pages, books go to screens at the Casa del Lector in Madrid. The main objective of this reference event is to achieve synergies between the audiovisual and publishing sectors promoting the possibility of adapting literary works to different screens. In past editions, important achievements were achieved, such as five of the works presented closing agreements for their adaptation, and at least three others are currently in an advanced state of negotiation.
In this annual space you can find both editors and literary agents looking for new ways to exploit their works, as well as audiovisual producers, television stations and platforms interested in new content and ideas for their projects.
The event is organized by the Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA) and the Federation of Editors' Guilds of Spain (FGEE). It also has the support of the Community of Madrid and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the collaboration of the Casa del Lector and the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation.
In this third edition of Rolling pages, books go to screens A committee of experts from the audiovisual sector formed by Álex Lafuente (producer and distributor of BTeam), Alauda Ruiz de Azúa (screenwriter and director) and Silvia Herreros de Tejada (writer and screenwriter) has chosen the 14 selected literary works. To do so, the committee has based itself on the great potential of these projects to be adapted to audiovisual language and different screens. These works will be presented on February 27 to a professional audience that will be able to attend free of charge upon registration until capacity is reached.
The day will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will take place until 2:00 p.m., with the possibility of requesting meetings with the publishers and literary agents of the selected works in the afternoon shift from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be two pitch sessions, at 10:00 a.m. and 11:40 a.m., and a round table at 1:00 p.m. on the film adaptation of the novel Intemperie, a film that won the Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. It will be attended by its author Jesús Carrasco, the director of the Editorial Planeta literary agency Javier Sanz, the co-writer of the film Daniel Remón, and the producer of Morena Films Pedro Uriol.
14 selected literary works
In this third edition se han presentado 84 obras de las cuales el comité de expertos ha seleccionado 14. Sus temáticas son muy diversas, desde la novela infantil y juvenil hasta la novela gráfica pasando por la novela histórica, comedia, thriller, biografías, drama romántico y la ciencia ficción. Además, 9 de las 14 obras seleccionadas están escritas por mujeres, potenciando así el talento femenino.
Varios de estos títulos ya cuentan con reconocidos galardones como Dicen de Susana Sánchez Arins, Premio del Gremio de Libreros de Madrid al mejor libro de ficción del 2019; El verano en que mi madre tuvo los ojos verdes de Tatiana Tibuleac, Premio Literatura de la Unión Europea 2019; ¿Dónde estás? de Bea Enríquez, Premio Internacional de Novela Gráfica Fnac-Salamandra Graphic 2018; y Algún día, hoy de Ángela Becerra, Premio Fernando Lara en 2019.
