PCBL

Atem has provided Integrated Receiver Decoders (IRD) Kyrion DR5000 a Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL), a New Zealand Government initiative that supports free-to-air broadcasters in the Pacific by distributing content originating in New Zealand for broadcast, and providing training to encourage the production of local content.

PCBL opted to procure a total of 52 DR5000 IRDs for its easy setup, he fast signal lock y RF robustness. Ateme IRDs provide support for HEVC, in addition to 10-bit 4:2:2, SD, HD, UHD, MPEG2 and H264 which will be installed in the 25 downlink locations. On the other hand, the Kyrion solution provides PCBL and its regional partners (covering approximately 20% of the Earth's surface) with unmatched reliability and video quality.

Ease of use and reliability both in terms of the product and delivery of material within a tight timeframe were key factors in PCBL's decision making. Ateme is recognized globally as a trusted long-term partner that can assist clients like PCBL in implementing their current and future vision.

Natasha Malaysia, CEO of PBCL, comments that "some of our customers are located in remote parts of the world, such as Kiribati, the Solomon Islands, the Kingdom of Tonga and Niue. Obviously, support and service are difficult to obtain quickly in these locations, so the robustness and ease of use of the DR5000 were key to our decision."
