The COIT and the Royal Academy of Engineering extend their collaboration agreement

Este acuerdo complementa y amplía la larga trayectoria de colaboración entre ambas entidades a través de la Fundación Pro Rebus Academiae.

He Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) and the Real Academia de Ingeniería (RAI) han firmado un acuerdo marco de colaboración para la realización de actividades conjuntas en diferentes ámbitos y proyectos. Este acuerdo complementa y amplía la larga trayectoria de colaboración entre ambas entidades a través de la Fundación Pro Rebus Academiae.

The collaboration will cover aspects of common interest in which both institutions can complement each other. Among others, the organization and joint holding of seminars, conferences, technical sessions, courses and conferences, aimed at training, information and dissemination of engineering and, in particular, at the promotion of technological vocations and digital transformation.

Antonio Colino, president of the RAI and the Pro Rebus Academiae Foundation, highlights that "in times like those we live in, cooperation between institutions related to Engineering is particularly important. Our organizations must share the objective of increasing the visibility of Engineering and putting the knowledge of engineers at the service of society as an irreplaceable instrument for our progress."

For its part, Martha Balenciaga, COIT dean-president, points out that "this agreement complements the long history of collaboration between the COIT and the RAI through the Pro Rebus Academiae Foundation. With this new agreement we will place special emphasis on the promotion of scientific and technological vocations among girls and women, taking advantage of the synergies of the "Women and Engineering" project with the initiatives and objectives of the Women IT working group."

One of the priority objectives of the framework agreement is the promotion of technological vocations, STEM, entre los jóvenes y especialmente entre las mujeres, que se llevará a cabo a través de las iniciativas puestas en marcha por ambas organizaciones: Proyecto Mujer e Ingeniería de la RAI, Grupo de Trabajo Mujer IT del COIT.

Además, este nuevo acuerdo propiciará la colaboración de la RAI en dos de nuestros eventos anuales más relevantes, como miembro del Jurado en el Premio Pioneras IT y en los actos de entrega de Premios Ingenieros de Telecomunicación COIT-AEIT, en los que se premia el talento y la excelencia de los mejores Ingenieros de Telecomunicación.

Otra de las acciones importantes definidas en el acuerdo de colaboración es la realización de investigaciones y publicaciones de forma conjunta. Therefore, it has been decided to start working on carrying out an Impact Study of Digital Enabling Technologies on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on sectors of interest (industry, logistics,...).

Furthermore, it has been decided to establish a Joint Action Plan, with the programs, projects and activities that are deemed appropriate. This plan will include the specific content of the annual collaboration and will be designed by the Joint Monitoring Commission stipulated in the agreement.
