The Board of Directors of the institution creates this seal that will be awarded to productions, feature films and television series that demonstrate a standard of sensitivity towards the environment.

Green Seal Film AcademyThe Board of Directors of the Film Academy has unanimously agreed to the creation of the Green Seal of the Academy, an initiative with which he wants to implement a way of working more efficient and sustainable in the audiovisual industry. For the Academy, it is a priority to develop the activity while respecting the environment and with this desire and determination it has conceived this program to promote green technology, reduce the risks of climate change, contribute to the substitution of fossil fuels, promote the circular economy, reinvent waste management, promote the efficient use and conservation of natural resources, reduce carbon emissions, establish social responsibility and firmly commit to energy efficiency and biodiversity.

The distinction Academy Green Seal, which was designed by the latest winner of the Goya for Artistic Direction, Juan Pedro de Gaspar, will be awarded to productions (feature films and television series) that demonstrate a standard of sensitivity towards the environment. The institution also wants to recognize production companies committed to these objectives.

Among the actions that this institution is carrying out on the occasion of the creation of this Green Seal of the Academy, it has also been agreed to publish a single paper yearbook, replacing the Academia Magazine where the editions of the Goya Awards will be collected and which will reflect the projection and trends in cinema for next year.

Since the state of alarm due to the coronavirus was declared, the Film Academy is focusing on the most immediate current events and betting on information, content and online activities, which can be followed through the Film Academy website; the Academia Channel (where podcasts, videos and film viewing are collected, among other activities; and through social networks where all this content is disseminated and is a space for #OurCineNosUne meetings and film-loving recommendations from Spanish film professionals.

Within this green strategy, it was also determined to limit the sending of promotional materials to academics by production companies to make the 35th edition of the Goya Awards more sustainable. This year, the materials authorized for sending will be limited to letters with information about the film (nominations, awards, festivals...).
