Gestmusic Endemol and Webedia España will produce 'Top Gamers Academy' for Neox

Neox (Atresmedia) will premiere the world's first gaming reality-talent next season. Jordi Cruz will be in charge of presenting the weekly galas.

Jordi Cruz will present Top Gamers Academy, he first gaming reality-talent in the world that will follow the evolution of 24 video game players who will live, train, learn and compete in a high-performance center.

The big bet of Neox It will also have a presence in the group's digital environment Atresmedia by the hand of Flooxer, in its continuous commitment to content aimed at the youngest, and Atresplayer Premium.

The format is produced by Gestmusic Endemol y Webedia Spain, and has Atresmedia, PlayStation, Twitch and DeAplaneta as strategic allies.

Cruz started on television at the age of 19 as head of the children's program, Disney Club. Later it would become the memory of an entire generation with the program Art Attack. From there he made the leap to Atresmedia, presenting Musical 3 y Megatrix on Antena 3, and the musical contest Number 1 at Neox. In 2009 he presented the first reality show for mobile phones and the internet produced by Endemol, Bustamante: one of ours.

He currently presents the program on Cadena 100 AfterWork and since 2018 he has also presented the DIY videos of the Brico Attack YouTube channel.

The final casting of Top Gamers Academy will take place next August 27 in Barcelona under strict health security measures. Of the 50 finalist contestants, the 24 chosen to enter the Academy of TGA. The casting can be followed in streaming on the Top Gamers Academy Twitch channel.
For eight weeks, 24 video game players will coexist, train, learn and compete playing video games on PlayStation 4 and mobile devices in a high-performance center.

The objective is to identify profiles specialized in gaming with a complete profile based on content creation, competition, healthy habits and personal brand.

To do this, participants will have the support of teachers and specialized professionals who will be in charge of their training and will help them strive every week to be the best and avoid expulsion. The players will be divided into three teams, each with a mentor (team owner) who will be in charge of watching over the participants and pushing them to the top of the competition. Elrubius, Willyrex and TheGrefg will be the mentors chosen from among the elite of digital content creators to lead each of the teams.
