Canadian Premier League

In a joint effort with Mediapro Canada, wTVision has developed a complete virtual solution for simulate a football stadium during live broadcasts of the Canadian Premier League.

The 36 matches will take place behind closed doors, like most sporting events, but the venue chosen by Canadian Football required a visual solution that would ensure the playful and emotional side of football.

The stadium built in Augmented Reality is the result of wTVision technology and incorporates its control applications Studio CG (for virtual graphics control) and FootballStats CG (for graphs and real-time data). The two systems are integrated with R³ Space Engine, a real-time 3D rendering engine.

As part of this large project, wTVison also provided its AR³ Football turnkey solution.

The system is capable of providing basic augmented reality graphics (such as offside lines or distance to goal), but can also generate cutting-edge virtual audiences, virtual cam carpets and on-pitch infographics. The solution can be controlled using any of wTVision's control applications.

In addition, the Portuguese company's team designed the complete graphics of the virtual stadium, preparing all the visual aspects and implementing them in the most effective way.

This attractive virtual stadium is part of a secure and innovative solution that ensures that live sporting events continue to be broadcast to fans at home with the same visual impact. To ensure compliance with all health and safety standards in times of COVID-19, broadcasts require a very small team on site and much of the technical support is done remotely.
