EITBLab will be part of the Miramon production factory and is part of the new policy in the Basque public entity with a strong commitment to transformation and transversality.

The transformation, the transversality, the internationalization and the cohesion of Basque Radio Television (EiTB) These are the main guidelines that the new EITB Media management team has set.

In this framework, the Basque public entity has launched EITBLab, a laboratory of ideas and content in new formats that will be part of the Miramon production factory in San Sebastián.

The mission of EITBLab will be develop a transmedia narrative to disseminate EITB Media's successful programs, and produce new projects and content so that EITB is the one who sets the direction in the digital universe.

This innovation laboratory is headed by Jon Lamarca Iturbe (San Sebastian, 1963). Coordinator of Gaztea radio for the last 13 years, Lamarca has worked as a program and news editor, scriptwriter and director of entertainment programs, among others.

Having transversal management positions in the main management positions to share the contents of the different channels, and moving towards a transformation of audiovisual products are the objectives of EITB Media in the immediate future.

In this context, Basque television has incorporated Unai Iparragirre Torres (Arrasate, 1973) as director of ETB. Iparragirre returns to ETB after leaving London as Vice President of Content Strategy for the Discovery Communications channel in the Europe, Middle East and Africa division. The new director of ETB took his first professional steps in this house as an editor, scriptwriter and program director, and has extensive experience in channel management, content strategy (digital and linear) and product development. Unai Iparragirre will provide the channel with an international vision and dimension, while working on the adaptation of new formats and content.

Along with the appointment of Iparragirre, and in the effort to work the different channels with an international, transversal and joint vision, the appointments of transversal directorates in EITB Media of Arantza Ruiz Miguelez (Gueñes, 1976) as News Director of radio, television and eitb.eus, and Sports Director of ETB Joseba Urkiola Irulegi (Leitza, 1986) as Sports Director also of all media.

Arantza Ruiz has been editor of the main news programs on Radio Euskadi, she has directed and presented news programs and current affairs programs on ETB, and until now she has presented the daily ETB2 program “Qué MeEres Contando”. Joseba Urkiola, for his part, has been a scriptwriter and director of documentaries, as well as a presenter and sports editor before being appointed director of this area at ETB. We must also highlight the appointments of Maite Amundarain as news director of ETB; Dani Álvarez as head of News at Radio Euskadi; and Ander Arzak as head of News at Euskadi Irratia.

These new positions, along with another extensive list of new additions, are intended to strengthen the management capabilities of the new team. Anticipating new audiovisual and communication challenges and the transformation within EITB Media that this entails will be your goals. Inside, all of this is framed in the support and dissemination of Basque and Basque culture.

The news in the EITB Media management team also covers the radio stations Euskadi Irratia, Radio Euskadi, Radio Vitoria and Gaztea. So, from now on Gorka Etxebeste he will be the director of Euskadi Irratia, EITB Music and Basque Songs; Jon Osa director of Radio Euskadi and Xabier Doncel director of Gaztea. On the other hand, the journalist Xabier García Ramsden will direct the news Boulevard of Radio Euskadi.
