The 16 verticals of 5G development in Spain are examined at the 5G Forum

Among the verticals that will be addressed in the fourth edition of the 5G Forum, which will take place from May 4 to 6, we find the media and virtual reality sector.

He National 5G Observatory will perform in the 5G Forum from Spain an examination of the evolution that 5G is having in the 16 vertical in which the European Union wants to develop the 5th Generation of telecommunications and which will be the main sectors of activity in which they will invest the 140,000 million euros of aid to Spain for the coronavirus crisis.

The person in charge of the National 5G Observatory (ON5G), Federico Ruiz, will be the one who will present “the state of the situation” to the technological, industrial and telecommunications community, which will meet virtually at the May 4 to 6 in the main thematic event on this new technology, which is now celebrating its fourth edition.

The 16 verticals/sectors are: Agriculture, Automobiles and Land Transportation, Drones, Education, Health, Energy, Fixed Wireless Access, Industry 4.0, Media and Entertainment, Public Safety, Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, Smart Public Services, Tourism, Transportation and Virtual Reality.

The fourth edition of the 5GForum has increased its agenda one more day (to three days) to accommodate the most interesting projects that are already being promoted in Spain. Currently, more than 50 research projects on 5G are being developed in Spain.

The General Director of Telecommunications, Maite Arcos, and one of Vice President Nadia Calviño's trusted people, will open the 5G Forum to explain The strategy to promote 5G technology, to which the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation will allocate 2,000 million euros until 2025.

The first day of the 5G Forum 2021, on Tuesday, May 4, will be dedicated to the big projects, nacionales e internacionales del 5G, de la mano de las autoridades europeas y nacionales, y de las multinacionales líderes a nivel mundial, introduciendo también una visual global sobre la 6G.

La segunda jornada, el miércoles 5 de mayo, estará centrada en los avances del 5G y el audiovisual; y la tercera, el jueves 6 de mayo, a los pilotos que están desarrollándose en España por parte de empresas y universidades.

En la edición de 2020 las empresas patrocinadoras del 5G Forum de España fueron multinacionales de primer nivel internacional como Cisco, Vodafone, Huawei, Samsung, Intracom Telecom, Rohde & Schwarz, Nokia, Hispasat, Axión, RTVE-Impulsa y Nemergent, además de 5Genesis y el Observatorio Nacional 5G, una iniciativa impulsada por Mobile World Capital, el Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital y Red.es.

Además, el 5G Forum desde 2018 ha reunido cada año a altos ejecutivos y ponentes invitados de la Comisión Europea, de EBU-Eurovisión, del Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital, de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), de la Universidad de Málaga (UMA) y de las telecos más importantes del país.
