The fourth edition of Rolling Pages, from the book to the screens took place this Thursday, April 8, in a hybrid format. This essential and reference annual event between the audiovisual and publishing sector seeks to create literary adaptations to different screens. In this edition, more than 150 professionals (editors, writers, literary agents, film, television and platform producers) gathered, mainly virtually and, following all security measures against COVID-19, in person at the headquarters of the DAMA management entity.

The day began with the institutional presentation by the organizers and collaborators. Mario Madueño, president of the Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA), organizer of this meeting, was optimistic about the celebration of Rodando Páginas, from the book to the screens in a particularly complicated year for culture: “this event is crucial for the publishing and audiovisual sector and it is a great joy that it could be held in order to continue promoting synergies and opportunities between different professionals.”

Next Antonio María Ávila, executive director of the Federation of Editors' Guilds of Spain (FGEE), highlighted the event as “a magnificent meeting point between two fundamental cultural industries and the professionals who are part of them.”

Ruperto Merino, deputy director of cultural programming of the Community of Madrid, stated that “we as an institution support the creative processes that generate culture and industry and Rodando Páginas is a project that has managed to consolidate itself in a short time.”

Jorge Corrales, general director of CEDRO, spoke about the importance of the continuity of projects like this: “we consider that cultural creations go beyond the initial support from which they start, they must be supported in their different stages.”

Borja Cobeaga, president of DAMA, highlighted that “the relationship between whoever writes a novel, a play or a comic with the audiovisual world is very strong, which is why events like this make so much sense.”
