Evertz integrates Zixi's Software Defined Video Platform (SDVP) for IP video delivery

In the XPS Series, a high-quality, low-latency real-time video streaming platform, Evertz will natively integrate SDVP, including Zixi's ZEN Master.

Evertz has closed an agreement with Zixi, developer of the Software Defined Video Platform (SDVP), to natively integrate the SDVP, including ZEN Master, in the Serie XPS, a high-quality, low-latency real-time video streaming platform that provides broadcast-quality video encoding with ultra-low latencies for mission-critical applications.

The

XPS, a flexible and scalable platform that is both modular and autonomous, supports up to four simultaneous encodings or decodings 1080p50/60 HD video that can be configured by software to switch between a four-channel encoder, a four-channel decoder, or a combination of two encodes and two decodes.

In addition, it supports resolutions of UHD video up to 2160p50/60 4K with 32 audio channels, with support for different compression standards, such as HEVC or H.264 over any IP network. The XPS platform also supports the latest patent-pending iTrak technology for multi-camera synchronization from multiple locations for cloud production via Well done Studio by Evertz. XPS also exclusively supports real-time ultra-low latency with the highest video quality for 24/7 uptime applications.

Minimum latency

SDVP's Zixi protocol is a network-aware, congestion-resistant protocol that adjusts to varying network conditions and employs proprietary dynamic error correction techniques for error-free video transport over IP with 99.9999% uptime with minimal latency. It provides best-in-class security with DTLS and AES encryption, enables multicast protected transport, provides bandwidth efficiency, and enables encoder backpressure.

The Zixi ZEN Master control plane is also integrated to allow users to manage large-scale configurations and orchestrate, analyze, monitor and report on live video streams and devices across XPS devices, and the Zixi Enabled Network of clients, integrated hardware and software applications, platforms and service providers standardized on Zixi.

As part of ZEN Master, the Zixi Intelligent Data Platform aggregates 3 billion data points per day from across the Zixi Enabled Network and uses Zixi's advanced analytics, machine learning and unique video telemetry data to provide pattern-based alerts and insights that help media companies streamline broadcast operations, focusing their resources on fixing errors before they occur and reducing the costs of root cause analysis.
