Newtek details the 3Play 3P2, its 4K system for sports replays

The new 3Play 3P2 video replay and telestration system, development of Newtek (Vizrt Group), seeks to occupy a prominent position in the instant replay market for sports productions.

The device promises to deliver “unprecedented connectivity and efficiency across the entire production workflow, at a fraction of the cost of traditional repeater systems.” Among the main features of this equipment we find an increase in inputs, compatible playlists, panning and scanning areas of interest, built-in capabilities of NewTek NDI Telestrator or publication of clips, among other functions. All of this, working fluidly in 4K. The 3P2 expands the product family 3Play, previously integrated by the 3Play 3P1 and the 3Play 425.

Zoom and follow

He 3Play 3P2 It offers 8 inputs and 2 external outputs. Inputs can be any combination of NDI sources with 4 SDI connectors built directly into the chassis. The outputs can be independent or work together in a preview/scheduling workflow that includes live animated and 3D warped visual transitions that are sent to both SDI and NDI destinations.

Shared Playlists

Another key point is that 3P2 and TriCaster can sync 3Play playlists over the network using NDI to create a unique collaboration experience that increases the speed and flexibility of sports production workflows.

“We have made the relationship between the 3P2 operator and the TriCaster operator seamless, as if they were working on the same system. This is where the collaboration between two different operators comes into play. It makes it much easier to get the best clips for broadcast,” concludes Spicek.
