The JVC Connected Cam are already compatible with the SRT streaming protocol
The SRT streaming protocol (Secure Reliable Transport) of Haivision It is already part of the cameras of the Connected Cam Gy-HC900 and GY-HC500/550 family of JVC Thanks to a firmware update.
These new functions (including adaptive coding with reduced latency and decoding SRT For IP video return), in the words of the firm, "they reinforce the powerful connectivity and positioning of the IP production solutions of the range." The GY-HC500/550, in particular, they also allow a mode of image cut in vertical format for direct dissemination of social networks content.
Joe D ’Amico, vice president of JVC Professional Video, considers this novelty an important step forward in the field of connectivity: “The Connected Cam system offers a comprehensive system of production and dissemination of content by authentically plug-and-Play streaming, which does not require resorting to typical transmission backpacks. Thanks to the incorporation of SRT open source technology in the cameras Connected CAM, we can continue continuously Firmware guaranteeing that JVC cameras represent a future solution in a highly changing production environment.
A versatile and flexible protocol
With the adaptive coding/streaming function (APR), the encoder monitors the current conditions of the networks in use and reduces the data flow in case of congestion with a loss of high packages. By combining this function with the application for automatic repetition (ARQ) and the correction of errors in reception (FEC), the SRT transport system behaves in a highly resistant and adaptable way to situations of congestion in the networks, to the losses of packages and the high values of Jitter.
On the other hand, the new mode PCR Fast It allows to have a very low latency (less than 1 second) when generating streaming on a decoder BR-DE900 or on production mixers that support the SRT protocol.
The built -in return video decoder also has this SRT update, in addition to already having the current protocols RTSP and Zixi. Thanks to this function, the cameras can receive the return of Video by IP in SRT and visualize it on the LCD viewer/screen for monitoring, insertion into an external monitor or for remote bidirectional communication.
Integration with social networks
The firmware update also includes an image cut function in square format for direct diffusion on social networks, in the case of GY-HC500/550. This functionality is logically thought for Tiktok and Instagram, in addition to Facebook Live or YouTube Live. The camera allows you to adjust up to 5 different cutting formats for streaming, independent of the recording of the images.
