What is it?

The developer of video streaming services Qvix Solutions has integrated its white label platform for IPTV, Nebula, with Android TV, Google's Smart TV operating system.

Now, the video solution for ISPs and cable operators Qvix will be compatible with Android TV allowing its clients to offer the service to the end user natively on Android televisions or devices compatible with this system.

Mariano Surghy, CEO of Qvix Solutions, recognizes that this launch “was something that we had been asking a lot about to simplify the implementation process and eliminate, as much as possible, STBs.”

Gustavo Villegas, CTO of Qvix Solutions, maintains that “Android TV is becoming a standard for the television industry, allowing you to do interesting things within your own applications by integrating with other third-party applications and providing a certain standardization framework for development.”

Added to Google's growing interest in the television service, with the Google TV platform already operational on several devices, is the strong commitment to this operating system that works on devices from different brands.

With Nebula available for Android TV, the platform is enabled to work with any solution compatible with Android TV without the need for a set-top-box. After the recent agreement to incorporate Android TV, from Google with Sony, Panasonic, Xiaomi, Hisense, Philips and TCL among others, the expectation is that its deployment will be stronger in 2022.

“We have just implemented a first client in Argentina, with compatible Android TV devices. In this way, Nebula, from Qvix Solutions, can now be downloaded from the Android TV playstore with its clients' brand so that users can download it directly,” Villegas points out.
