Vodafone adopts Android TV as its preferred platform for television

The operator Vodafone expands its European collaboration with Google on mobile messaging services, Pixel devices and television services.

The expanded agreement between the companies will allow Vodafone customers to enjoy new and enriched messaging experiences through the adoption of Google Jibe Cloud to boost Vodafone's use of Enriched Communication Services (RCS for its acronym in English).

The deal will also bring the Pixel 7 smartphone to Vodafone customers and develop Vodafone functionality for other Pixel categories.

Regarding its television service, Vodafone will use Android TV as your preferred set-top box platform throughout the group for the services of Vodafone TV in the future, allowing customers to continue accessing the widest range of entertainment and now enjoy thousands of apps and games available on Google Play through Vodafone TV's intuitive interface.

Vodafone TV with Android TV brings entertainment together in one place. The user will be able to talk to Google and more on their TV, and use the built-in Chromecast to bring photos, music and more to the big screen.

The expanded agreement will also allow Google to further leverage the power of ultrafast fiber optic networks and 5G from Vodafone.
