NewTek launches its new NC2 Studio I/O module, compatible with 12G-SDI and NDI 5

NewTek NC2 Studio

The new NC2 Studio input/output module from NewTek (Vizrt Group), suitable for hybrid production configurations, is now available.

Compatible with connections 12G-SDI y 10 Gigabit Ethernet, the studio input/output module NC2 It unites traditional SDI equipment and infrastructure with the flexibility of IP networks. The turnkey design of the NC2 Studio I/O module offers up to 8 dynamic I/O channels, including playback and recording of multimedia files in a 1 RU chassis, all supported by its connectivity with IS 5.

The new module, beyond being able to convert different types of sources, connects multiple video and audio formats, including NDI, SDI and other IP formats, also provides a unified interface that includes Selectable multi-windows and professional video viewers, giving users greater control of their signals through built-in precision color correction.

Newtek's latest bet has been designed, ultimately, to interconnect types of video signals. However, it does not forget the audio section, being able to create adaptable workflows through software drivers Dante, AES-67 y ASIO/WDM. The management of each channel can be leveraged locally, through technology AND KVM integrated or web-based API.

NDI 5 support

NC2 Studio from Newtek integrates a module optimized to work with NDI 5. Combined with the NC2 studio I/O module, NDI seeks to eliminate the restrictions of productions linked to their physical location, offering “efficient, secure and reliable workflows on a global scale.”

Will Waters, head of product management at NewTek, says of the launch: “Connectivity is a core function of any production and we have seen an increase in demand from customers looking to use 12G-SDI-based devices in combination with an NDI-based infrastructure.”
