RTS renews its radio studios with the Grand Forum IP console and the BC2000D router from AEQ
Senegal's public broadcasting company, RTS (Senegalese Television Broadcasting), has renovated its central radio studios with technology from AEQ.
The axis of integration, undertaken by the Belgian company Studiotech, go through the installation of the digital audio console Grand Forum-IP. This mixer, designed for emissions control on air, incorporates the most demanded features for this type of environments: automatic cut-off of monitors, cough cut-off, faderstart, signaling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication, etc. Thanks to its modular design and small size, the solution adapts to different radio scenarios such as self-control, booth control, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations or integration into large installations.
On the other hand, the AEQ Grand Forum can be equipped with AoIP multi-channel input and output cards up to a maximum of 64 input and output channels compatible with AES 67 through technology Dante. This will allow RTS to adapt to the imminent IP transformation that is facing the global radio industry.
Matriz BC-2000D
The second axis of the project at the Senegalese television RTS is an AEQ matrix BC-2000D, which will be in charge of managing all the signals present in the installation.
The basis of the BC-2000D digital audio system is the dual TDM bus, housed in the BC-2000 DF chassis, with the capacity to route, mix or distribute more than a thousand channels simultaneously. The TDM bus is divided into an input bus and an output bus with the possibility of inserting DSP cards, achieving a large flow of DSP processing capacity. The system can be decentralized by using MADI or AoIP Dante links as an interconnection between various sub-racks. In addition, devices with Dante or AES 67 connectivity can connect directly to the Dante / AES 67 cards located in the main frame or any sub-rack.
Likewise, analog and digital inputs and outputs can be combined according to current and future needs. All digital inputs and outputs are transformer isolated and an option has been provided for when transformer isolation is needed on the analog inputs and outputs. In addition, there is also an option for microphone inputs, AoIP, SDI, headphone outputs and GPI/O.
