Goldcrest renews its studio to be able to offer soundtracks in Dolby Atmos format
Studio A of the New York post-production company Goldcrest Post has been updated with new equipment to be able to mix soundtracks in Dolby Atmos.
It is not the first room of the company that has been updated to embrace this format, given that in 2018 Goldcrest renewed his Study Q to accommodate all types of streaming, broadcast and home cinema projects that require sound Atmos.
Each of the two studios are equipped with two consoles Avid S6 supported by workstations ProTools, routers MADI, 2K projectors NEC and a mastering suite Dolby Atmos. Immersive monitoring includes a studio speaker mix JBL y Meyer Acheron. In addition to Dolby Atmos Home Theater 7.1.4, studios support mixing in Dolby 7.1 and 5.1. The engineer Bob Troeller He provides further details: "The two rooms are similarly equipped and provide a consistent mixing environment. The workflows are designed for maximum efficiency. Each room has a dedicated Pro Tools recorder and a Dell server running Dolby Atmos Home Theater software. This allows all dialogue, music and sound effects to be recorded simultaneously, helping to streamline the delivery process."
Production increase
The update to Dolby Atmos It is part of Goldcrest's plans to increase its sound and image resources to keep pace with the increase in streaming and broadcast television production. As the mixer points out Bob Kefalas: "We have a lot of great internal projects and more on the way. We believe that the demand for Atmos delivery will continue to increase, and we are prepared for it."
