LaLigaSportsTV will offer exclusive content for its Plus users
LaLigaSportsTV, the OTT of LaLiga, begins its fourth season with two modalities: LaLigaSportsTV or LaLigaSportsTV Plus, which will have exclusive content under subscription.
For three seasons it has broadcast sports content for free live and on demand, and, like most OTTs on the market, it will now require a paid subscription for some of its top content such as the National Futsal League and the Sacyr ASOBAL League for handball, the LEB ORO for basketball, the AFC Champions League, the Russian Premier Liga and the ONE Championship.
To Alfredo Bermejo, director of Digital Strategy at LaLiga, "the creation of this package represents a great evolution for our OTT. We have been in the market for three years and we believe it is time to go one step further by offering our best content for a highly competitive price. It is an evolution in the product, beginning to monetize our Premium content through the subscription model and with an attractive initial offer for our users. Our idea is to continue offering quality content and exploring new commercial avenues for monetization."
In addition, LaLigaSportsTV consolidates content that has already been enjoyed during the three years of the platform's life and that will continue to be enjoyed for free, such as athletics, gymnastics, triathlon, tennis, petanque, surfing or pelota, among others. In addition, this year new competitions are incorporated such as the Volleyball Super League or the National Ice Hockey League, without closing the door to the entry of new content.
The platform is available to everyone on Google Play, App Store and App Gallery for free download. LaLiga's OTT service is accessible from mobile phones, tablets, Smart TV (Samsung, LG, Android TV and Huawei), as well as through connectors such as Chromecast or mirroring from an iOS to the TV (AirPlay), and also from the website itself (laligasportstv.com). In addition, the LaLigaSportsTV app is also available on Movistar+, Orange and Vodafone decoders.
