Teradek shares the keys to its new Spark 4K, wireless video transmitter and receiver

Spark 4K, the latest bet Teradek (The Vitec Group), is capable of transmitting video 4K HDR up to 150 meters no noticeable delay over the 5Ghz band.

Spark 4K represents Teradek's response to the growing demand for high quality video transport, which has been boosted as a result of Covid-19. As light as a “baseball” and as small as a “cassette tape,” Spark 4K transmit and receive units feature a versatile design for table or camera mounting. Other keys to this system are its dual feed, with an internal battery lasting more than two hours; and their multicast capabilities, allowing multiple video sources to be sent to HDMI-compatible receivers for computers/laptops, projectors, switchers, monitors, TV displays and LED video walls.

Michael Gailing, vice president and general manager of the live production division of Teradek's Creative Solutions, justifies the creation of Spark 4K: "With the massive increase in streaming events and the subsequent demand for in-person events post-Covid, expectations for high-quality, engaging content have never been higher. Spark 4K not only allows production teams to raise the quality of their events, but reduces set-up and tear-down times, and improves the overall dynamics of the viewer experience."
