Sony expands UWP-D series with new attachable wireless receiver and bodypack transmitter

The new two-channel slot-in receiver (UTX-B03HR) and bodypack transmitter (UWP-D Series) are compatible with Sony XDCAM and HDCAM camcorders.

Sony UTX-B03HR

Sony Early next year, Sony will launch a new two-channel slot-in receiver, the UTX-B03HR, and a new bodypack transmitter, the UWP-D Series, designed to be compatible with Sony's XDCAM and HDCAM camcorders.

The URX-S03D receiver is the first UWP-D series two-channel slot-in receiver for Sony camcorders, providing a true diversity system with stable RF transmission and high-quality sound.

Since its launch in 2014, Sony's UWP-D series has been used for many applications such as documentaries and newscasts.

Sony UTX-B03HRURX-S03D

The true diversity reception system achieves very stable reception thanks to its two receiving antennas and independent RF circuits for each channel. The RF signals from the two antennas are compared and the stronger signal is automatically selected for output, allowing the URX-S03D to minimize potential reception interruptions. Sony's digital audio processing based on DSP (digital signal processing) further contributes to high-quality sound.

The receiver fits into the slot of Sony XDCAM camcorders with 2-channel digital audio connections directly from DSP. It can also be fitted to the slot of an HDCAM camcorder with a single channel audio connection. Additionally, you can monitor the AF/RF status of the URX-S03D using the viewfinder of compatible Sony camcorders.

This solution allows for automatic channel setup where it scans and determines the available channels and sends information to the transmitter to complete the automatic channel setup. On the other hand, the free channel search, active channel search and IR Sync functions allow quick, easy and safe channel adjustment. Additionally, its large screen and simple menu allow for easy operation.

Sony UTX-B03HRUTX-B03HR

The new UTX-B03HR is equipped with a new 4-pin microphone connector designed to withstand the difficulties of ENG recording. A standard broadcast lavalier microphone (ECM-77BC) can be used with the new connector.

This equipment, with Sony digital audio processing, is fully compatible with the UWP/WL-800 series. Extremely compact, lightweight and with a robust metal chassis, it uses USB as a power source or battery charger.

It has a switchable and adjustable MIC/LINE line input and an attenuator from 0 dB to 21 dB (in 3 dB increments).

The URX-S03D and UTX-B03HR receivers can be used with the new PXW-X400 camcorder.
