Sony's DWX series expands with the DWT-P30 wireless transmitter

The DWT-P30 pluggable digital wireless transmitter joins the DWX family of Sony to complete a digital wireless microphone system together with the Sony attachable receiver and bodypack transmitter.

The new DWT-P30, directed transmitter for studio environments, ENG and outdoor coverage, is part of the third generation of digital wireless microphone systems in the series Sony DWX, which combines advanced digital technologies, extensive experience in analog microphones and knowledge of wireless audio transmission technologies.

DWX Series RF transmission, encryption and audio processing technologies provide transmission and reception “safe and stable” digital audio of “very high quality with low latency” when used in combination with Sony cameras. More specifically, the transmitter DWT-P30 Sony works with a wide bandwidth of up to 148 MHz (depending on region). In addition, its high-density channel plan at intervals of 375 kHz allows the simultaneous multichannel operation, which increases the probability of finding unoccupied frequencies in congested metropolitan areas.

The DWT-P30 is compatible with control software Sony Wireless Studio for PC (Ver 5.22 or later), allowing flexible remote operation. In fact, the solution can control up to 82 transmitters through the function Cross Remote combined with remote control unit RMU-01 (available separately).

Other notable features of this tool, which will be available at end of 2022, are its compatibility with the Mode4 codec; the possibility of selecting the RF output power (2/10/25 mW), and one long lasting battery approximately six hours.
