Telemadrid installs new modular equipment in Albalá

Radio Television Madrid has been awarded to Albalá Engineers the supply of modular technical equipment for audio and video processing that will be installed in the electronic rooms and sets of its Production Center.

This modular infrastructure, designed and manufactured by Albalá, will be used for the processing of SDI signals at both the video and audio levels with distribution functions, Up/Down/Cross conversion to make the use of SD and HD signals compatible, audio matrixing for contribution signals as well as AES 67 IP audio extraction to integrate audio over SDI with audio over IP.

Among the solutions adopted, the module stands out AIP2000C01, a bidirectional converter of up to 16 channels of framed audio in SDI video, AES/EBU digital audio or analog audio to audio over IP according to AES67, designed for the transmission of up to 16 channels of uncompressed PCM audio (8 AES/EBU) or 4 complete MPX signals with their stereo encoding and RDS.

It is intended to manage redundancy when operating in AES67 transmitter mode as well as in AES67 receiver mode. It is even possible to use two completely separate networks on a physical level, since it has two Ethernet interfaces. It has mechanisms so that the switching between the redundant signals received is seamless (without seams or breaks in the frame).

Telemadrid has also incorporated the 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal cross converter to 3G/HD/SD-SDI HXC3000C01 with Advanced Motion Compensated Deinterlacer and HAM3000C01, 3G/HD/SD-SDI Video Framing Audio Modifier; as well as a double digital video signal converter from electrical format to optical format or vice versa, model EOP2000C01.

This module supports 270 Mbit/s signals both SDI and DVB-ASI, 1.5 Gbit/s HD-SDI and 3 Gbit/s 3G-SDI and consists of two sections that share an SFP optical module that can be dual transmitter or dual receiver. Each of the sections has two BNC connectors, one of which always works as an output and the other can act as an input or an output depending on the use you want to give to the equipment.

In addition, the equipment renewal includes a double optical transmitter, model MSFPTP01, and double optical receiver, model MSFPRP01, for 3G/HD/SD-SDI digital video.

All the aforementioned modular infrastructure of Albalá, plus its distributors and chassis including redundant power supplies, monitoring and remote control system with the necessary software for the configuration and supervision of the system responds to the existing homogeneity with the rest of the SDI processing equipment that RTVM already has.
