Cristina Burzako (Movistar+): “The pandemic has stabilized entertainment at historic levels”
The final chapter of Reinvéntate Leadership Stories, a miniseries promoted by AED (Spanish Association of Directors), features the participation of Cristina Burzako (Movistar+).
The CEO of the video ecosystem Telefónica It is part of the fifth and final chapter of Reinvéntate Leadership Stories, a documentary miniseries about the business leadership of Spain. In its fifth chapter, called Personas, Burzako has been accompanied by Anna Quirós, director of culture, selection, development and labor relations at CaixaBank.
In his interventions, Buzako highlights that "the pandemic made us learn the entertainment capacity of the user, which, although it rose a lot at that time, has also stabilized at historical levels." During the episode, the Movistar+ board also explains the turning point What the confinement of the population meant for the platform: “It was critical from a connectivity point of view, because from one day to the next the whole of Spain was at home connected, worried about the situation, and there was also an enormous level of consumption and deployment of entertainment.”
In this sense, and to face the exponential demand for entertainment, the main lesson that Burzako exposes is the need to be agile in decision making: “It made us learn from our capacity for decision-making agility,” in reference to the obligation of having to remake, cancel or postpone series and programs and to advance other content. “We are a partner and a brand that has a very clear responsibility in supporting something so important for the user, with which they are falling, such as their own moment of pleasure and entertainment,” he maintains.
