Thomson Broadcast signs agreement to acquire GatesAir

Although the financial details of the transaction have not been revealed, within the framework of NAB 2022 Thomson Broadcast has made public its intention to acquire GatesAir, in an operation that is still subject to regulatory processing and is expected to close in the second half of 2022.

GatesAir is a renowned company in the broadcasting sector, with a history that is just now turning one hundred years old. Recently, it has experienced strong growth, after participating with great success in the North America Spectrum Repack program.

GatesAir collaborated with Bowen in a solid process in which several strategic and financial parties were interested, and in which Thomson Broadcast prevailed due to its great complementarity. The combination of GatesAir with Thomson Broadcast will create a full-scale platform with greater capabilities in product innovation, design and efficiency and an expanded portfolio of holistic, turnkey broadcast solutions.
