Starzplay faces the final phase of 'El Refugio', a science fiction original

The Refuge, the platform's first science fiction original Starzplay from Starz, the countdown to its premiere begins, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 23.

The last bet of Starzplay has the executive production of Juan de Dios Larraín, Pablo Larraín, Ángela Poblete and Mariane Hartard, of Fable, y Christian Vesper, of Fremantle. Pablo Fendrik serves as showrunner and director of these six episodes of The Refuge, which are based on the original idea of Julio Rojas (Case 63), who also co-writes the series with Francisco Ortega (Lodge) y Enrique Videla (The Pack).

In The Refuge, a family lives the strangest hours of their lives when unusual phenomena begin to occur, caused by a completely unknown force of nature. But everything happens through their screens. When they go outside, nothing seems to happen, apart from what spring in the Mexican countryside holds for a group of humans. Parents must protect their children from an invisible enemy that not even they know really exists. What is real? What has happened to the world they knew? Is this ranch a refuge? Is it the last stronghold of humanity?

The first trailer of The Refuge has been released in the Argentina Comic Con during the panel in which the protagonists of the series Alberto Guerra participated (Narcos: Mexico), Ana Claudia Talancón (Like Fallen from the Sky), executive producer, Ángela Poblete (Miss 89) and the screenwriter, Julio Rojas. The series will premiere on Thursday June 23 exclusively in Spain and Latin America.
