Mediapro will produce the final phase of the UEFA Champions League in Lisbon
Four 4K mobile units and one HD/3G, 31 cameras and more than 200 professionals will provide coverage of one of the sporting events with the greatest television impact.
The UEFA Champions League reaches its final stretch as one of the sporting events with the greatest impact and television following on the entire planet. Mediapro has been selected by UEFA as host broadcaster for the production and distribution of the host signal of the final phase which, after the break due to the pandemic, will concentrate for the first time in its history the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, in a single match, and the final of the competition.
The group will produce and distribute in HD and UHD from Lisbon the seven matches that will proclaim the champion of this edition of the UEFA Champions League. From today, August 12, when the first quarterfinal match takes place, until August 23, when the final will be played that will decide the new European champion.
With this edition, it will be the fourth time that the Mediapro group produces and distributes the signal for the UEFA Champions League final. He was in charge of producing the international signal in the 2010 final that was held at the Santiago Bernabéu, the 2014 edition at the Estádio Da Luz in Lisbon and last year from the Estadio Metropolitano.
Mediapro participates in the production of 16 national football competitions around the world and accumulates extensive experience in producing events of major sports competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Confederations Cup, FIFA World Cup, CONMEBOL, FIBA, Euroleague, Pan American Games, Arab Games, African Cup of Nations and Formula 1.
Four 4K mobile units and one HD/3G unit, more than 200 professionals and up to 31 cameras, including two Ultra Slow Motion, three SteadyCam RF, two remote Pole Cam, a 4Sky System and a Drone will be used in the production of one of the sporting events with the greatest impact worldwide.
In the quarterfinal matches, 25 cameras will be used, while in the two semifinal matches, 28 will be used. In the seven matches of the final phase, Mediapro will use state-of-the-art technological devices to guarantee the highest image quality distributed internationally.
The The match will be carried out by Juan Figueroa, one of the most reputable and experienced sports directors in the competition, in what will be his second UEFA Champions League final.
