Sumolight presents Sumolaser, a daylight source that seeks to be an alternative to HMIs
Within the framework of the fair Cine Gear 2022, Sumolight, manufacturer of Sumospace+, Sumosky or Sumomax, presents the new Sumolaser daytime light source.
Based on a “new class of laser emitters”, Sumolaser appears as a point source of daylight. Weighing only 4.9 kg, the solution seeks to offer a similar or superior performance to traditional HMI sources of 18 kW, which “weigh more than ten times.” With a color temperature of 6000°K, this source capable of emitting 150.000 lux / 45.700 footcandles measured at 100m ground consumption 175 In de potencia. Its dimensions are also small: the laser module measures 204x194x192mm, while the mounting yoke and control box, spigot and 7-motor module together measure 480x290x320mm.
Like all Sumolight luminaires, Sumolaser is fully modular and is made up of individual units arranged in the form hexagonal. While each luminaire can be individually controlled Via DMX or local touch screen, they can also be built in custom combination patterns. To this end, the connection system Sumosnap allows you to combine several luminaires in powerful arrays.
Each Sumolaser includes a seven motor laser module that produces three degree beam angles which join together to form a tight homogeneous bundle. As more units with Sumosnap adapters are added, the beam width increases but the angle remains the same, allowing for “increased performance.”
Finally, Sumolight has confirmed that Sumolaser has a degree of protection IP65, making it safe for use indoors or outdoors.
