HRT with Dejero

Croatian public broadcaster HRT (Hrvatska Radiotelevizija) has equipped its headquarters, regional hubs and global reporting teams with solutions Dejero provided by your local partner CS Computer Systems.

To support coverage of news, sports and live events, Dejero provides HRT with robust, high-bandwidth wireless connectivity in the field, as well as streamlined content sharing between broadcasters.

Petra Dražić, head of the news production technical team at HRT, acknowledges that “the Dejero team is an essential part of our live broadcast abroad, where the live video is sent to the HRT headquarters”.

Field teams at the headquarters in Zagreb and the regional broadcasters in Čakovec, Osijek, Vukovar, Rijeka, Pula, Zadar, Šibenik and Split, among others, use Dejero's EnGo mobile transmitters on a daily basis. HRT teams also take EnGo transmitters with them when they travel abroad to cover major sporting events, high-profile elections and global news events.

“As a national television station, HRT's task is to inform the public about news from all parts of Croatia and the world – and for such tasks the Dejero EnGo has proven to be a critical tool to achieve this due to its robustness, quality of transmission and stability – even in places with limited cell reception,” says Dražić.

HRT with DejeroFrom anywhere

HRT uses a combination of mobile transmitters EnGo from Dejero, coders PathWay and the content distribution service MultiPoint into your outdoor broadcast workflow to support on-site reporting anywhere.

EnGo mobile transmitters are used by HRT field teams to send live camera feeds to a WayPoint receiver installed at HRT headquarters. By using multiple Dejero PathWay EC encoders with six integrated modems for 3G/4G/LTE cellular connectivity and the ability to record up to 32 hours of HD (85GB of storage), the broadcaster can collect the shots to package and enhance the live coverage of events for news, sports and current affairs programs.

A cloud-based service Dejero MultiPoint simplifies content sharing high-quality, low-latency, real-time, allowing feeds from different cameras to be shared simultaneously with regional HRT centers that are also equipped with a Dejero WayPoint receiver.

HRT uses cloud-based management system I leave Control to centrally manage all your Dejero equipment from a web browser. Transmitters from anywhere in the world can be remote controlled. Control also simplifies the routing and sharing of live video streams, recorded clips, and file transfers from field transmitters.

HRT Radio also relies on a Dejero GateWay network aggregation device to provide robust wireless internet connectivity for streaming your daily live radio shows from the field to HRT headquarters.
