SES and LiveU launch a solution that unites the world of backpacks with satellite
A completely turnkey solution that offers clients video contribution and distribution, as well as the aggregation of premium content: this is the latest bet from SES y LiveU.
Thanks to the new proposal of these two firms with extensive experience in the broadcast field, clients who wish to retransmit sports, news and other live events from stadiums, sports facilities y remote locations they have access to the live video creation and distribution combining capabilities of satellite, fiber, IP and mobile telephony.
This solution is distributed around three axes. In the section of the contribution, las LiveU backpacks may have a direct connection with the telepuertos de SES through 4G/5G. In this way, this direct connection offers a alternative to an SNG mobile unit or can be used as a backup source. Regarding the aggregation, customers now have the ability to add their content on the LiveU Matrix IP cloud live video service, including from LiveU dongles and over SES satellite and IP connections. Michele Gosetti, director of sales, sports and events at SES, believes that the combination of the experience and technology of both brands will offer “the ability to deliver high-quality professional broadcasts, whether athletes are climbing a remote mountain or competing in an urban professional sports stadium.” The system, in fact, has already been tested by clients such as Singapore, which has deployed the solution for the transmission of a sport climbing championship in Korea to viewers in EMEA, America and Asia with the LiveU backpacks and the SES satellite distribution.
