Bainet acquires twenty LiveU backpacks to change its way of producing content
The bet of Bainet for the production of live content to serve a wide selection of Spanish television stations is materialized in the purchase of 20 brand broadcast backpacks LiveU.
With a wide portfolio of clients, which range from regional televisions (RTVCE, EITB and RTCM) until national televisions (A3 and LaSexta, among others), Bainet needed a solution to considerably expand the number of live shows offered daily. In the words of Sebastian Diaz, general director of Bainet Group in Madrid: "Before turning to LiveU, we had difficulties producing live content, especially in a dynamic and timely manner. Using their field units, we have massively increased our live production, especially in news. We have gone from being able to manage one live a day to up to 20, which means more than 7,000 live events a year."
After the acquisition of various LiveU broadcast units, the production company has found a solution that provides “reliability and stability” to their “news production” services “The biggest advantage for us is the mobility that LiveU backpack technology provides us. We now have easy access to places (and therefore live reporting) that we simply couldn't reach before. We would have had to take a DSNG truck, find a parking spot, run a bunch of cables, secure and monitor satellite connectivity, have a generator, etc. In short, it was a big impediment that greatly limited what we could do. With LiveU, in an instant those problems have disappeared. We can be placed wherever we need to be and transport event signals from anywhere," explains Díaz. Other highlights of the solution for the Bainet manager are the high level of "signal stability and MCR monitoring", as well as "the cost-effectiveness compared to DSNGs.”
Laura Llamas, country manager for southern Europe at LiveU, highlights the role of Spain as a “continuously expanding market” with an increasing number of producers, broadcasters and rights holders that “recognize the transformation of the industry in which we are pioneers.” “The way in which the Bainet Group has been able to expand its acquisition of live content through news is very exciting to see and is a clear example of the power of the LiveU EcoSystem to create impactful content,” remarks Llanes.
