JPEG 2000 also available for Media Links MD2000 platform

Undoubtedly JPEG 2000 compression for broadcast is being one of the leading trends, which is why Media Links has chosen to also implement a card for its MD 2000 platform.

The JPEG 2000 video encoder/decoder module, together with MediaLinks' versatile MD8000 platform, guarantee intercity video transmission without packet loss and with 100% quality of service, allowing point-to-point and point-to-multipoint transmission.

Due to its integration into the MD8000 communications platform, as well as its double signal output, MediaLinks JPEG2000 encoders can be routed through two different paths, so if one of the signals is lost, a second signal remains at the redundant destination. It allows the sending of HD-SDI as well as SD-SDI signals, with different compression levels and maintains excellent signal quality, as it is capable of transmitting in 4:2:2 video format.

Media Links has also implemented JPEG2000 for its MD2000 platform, also providing in this version very low latency, the ability to transmit signals in high quality HD-SDI and SD-SDI, as well as the possibility of doing so with uncompressed digital audio embedded in the video signal.
