JPEG XS lands on Media Links' Xscend SDI/IP conversion platform
Xscend, plataforma IP de Media Links Designed to transport up to 128 channels over managed and unmanaged IP networks, it is committed to integrating JPEG XS (intoPIX).
This collaboration was successfully deployed during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by one of the leading US broadcasters, offering image quality and ultra-low latency for real-time video transport. Excluding transport mechanisms, the standard JPEG XS implemented on intoPIX FPGA achieves a latency of encoding and decoding less than 32 video lines, a breakthrough that significantly reduces the delay in live broadcasting and sets a new standard for the industry.
The Xscend platform offers a arquitectura adaptable to different network protocols, user-defined workflows, physical interfaces, compression codecs and video formats. In the words of intoPIX, broadcasters can maintain the “maximum image quality” while optimizing bandwidth usage with JPEG XS, “guaranteeing” reliable media transport over IP networks even in bandwidth-constrained environments.
Mark Podes, senior director at Media Links, celebrates the arrival of JPEG XS a intoPIX: "Working closely with intoPIX, we are proud to bring JPEG
On the part of intoPIX, el director de media entertainment & ProAV Solutions, Jean-Baptiste Lorent, explains: "Our shared leadership in the VSF together with Media Links highlights the importance of JPEG XS as a trusted industry standard. This collaboration is driving the future of IP broadcasting."
