Starzplay begins a new stage as Lionsgate+

Starz has confirmed that its premium international streaming service, Starzplay, will be rebranded as Lionsgate+ in 35 countries.

Starzplay will be called Lionsgate+ in 35 Starz markets, except in the United States and Canada, where it will continue to be Starz; The Starzplay Arabia and Lionsgate Play brands in South and Southeast Asia will also remain.

Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO of Starz, explains the reasons which has led the firm to begin a new stage under the seal Lionsgate+: "Operating under Lionsgate+ internationally brings a distinct and differentiated identity in an increasingly saturated international market and builds on the brand equity of the Lionsgate name, which our extensive research has shown is strong around the world. Even with the separation of Starz and Lionsgate's studio business, the Lionsgate brand will remain valuable to the continued success of our international platform." We've built strong relationships with our viewers and look forward to continuing to bring them premium storytelling like Lionsgate+."

The subscribers of Lionsgate+ have access to a extensive library of exclusive and premium content which includes original series that premiere globally on the same day as in the United States, such as the political thriller Gas color; period dramas in its Royal Collection, including the upcoming series Dangerous Liaisons; original series in Spanish, such as the drama Miss 89, the science fiction thriller The Refuge and the police drama Express; premiere series like The Great y Gangs of London, and a selection of films.
