The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra begins a new stage with Lawo solutions
Professional Audio & Television (PAT), local partner of Theirs, has closed an important agreement with New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) for the renewal of key equipment for its sound production.
The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, one of the world's oldest national symphony orchestras, has captivated audiences with memorable concerts and recordings since 1946. In 2016, the NZSO was nominated for Best Orchestral Performance at the prestigious premios Grammy and has recorded music for several film and game projects, such as Wish Dragon, The Hobbit, The Lovely Bones, Krampus, Emperor, Escape Plan, Mortal Engines y Titanfall 2.
Recently, and with the help of PAT, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra has renewed much of its equipment. An audio production console Their mc²96 of 72 faders is located at the heart of the installation, complemented by a console Lawo mc²56 with 16 faders. Both consoles pool their resources DSP supercompact dual core Their A__UHD totally redundant. On the other hand, the boxes Their A__stage They feed the audio in and out of a redundant SMPTE 2110-30 AoIP network, and the media network is synchronized by a Meinberg microSyncRX, which offers a “high level of efficiency, versatility and impresses with its high port density.” Everything is managed by the cloud platform Home of Theirs, responsible for connecting, managing and securing all aspects of the live production environment of this infrastructure based on IP.
PAT has also supplied and fully integrated the interfaces STEP of Merging Technologies in the Lawo environment through HOME, as well as in the 2110 network through Microsens fiber bridges. This has boosted I/O capabilities and provided a seamless, unified interface for control room operators and multiple terminals. Avid ProTools throughout the facility.
A project that looks to the future
And PowerCore of Theirs equipped with an expansion card Dante I and connection panels StudioHub XLR will work like central communications system y talkback of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. This system is controlled by software IDS Core of Densitron via Ember+. The Densitron core will also be used to orchestrate and control lighting, digital signage and video elements between each of the performance and educational spaces. Additionally, Densitron's solution will be used to display information about the booking and status of performance spaces outside many of the Townhall's rooms and will keep conductors and score readers up to date with time signature and bar information during performance recordings.
