Avid Media Composer - Pro Tools Integration - UI Update

The latest version of Media Composer software Avid (2.9.23) includes significant improvements to streamline imaging and sound workflows through tighter integration with Pro Tools.

Thanks to this update, Avid Media Composer is now able to export sequences directly to Pro Tools, combining video, audio and metadata in one export file .PTX. This new capability allows teams to complete projects faster, while accelerating content creation and delivery for post-production workflows. Avid has stressed that this is just the first step in offering collaborative workflows between Media Composer and Pro Tools, a critical need identified during several meetings that the company promoted with its clients.

Avid Media Composer - Pro Tools Integration - UI UpdateThe new version of Media Composer brings other improvements, such as the ability to record and monitor multichannel sequences with 7.1 surround sound; “full” compatibility with the audio interface MBOX Studio from Avid, which allows you to capture “every sonic nuance” with low latency monitoring; a improved media management by simplifying the media relinking workflow and improving performance, and a simplified user interface which allows you to create projects from the editor media “with a single click”. Likewise, Avid has improved the remote editing experience by making progress in integrating the Media Composer | editing tool | Enterprise and the solution Avid NEXIS | EDGE. This novelty translates into the improvement of the creation of flows of proxy job, which allow editors to switch between high-resolution and proxy content with a single click.

Latest Avid Media Composer update completes with new feature Multiplex IO of Media Composer, which offers users the possibility of having up to 10 I/O plug-ins active simultaneously. This allows output from Media Composer to multiple streaming platforms and devices via SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), IS and any E hardware/S connected and supported, allowing local monitoring while streaming to remote viewers.
