'Tell me how it happened' will end with its 23rd season, made up of seven episodes and produced by RTVE in collaboration with Ganga Productions.

The last episodes of the historic series, whose first season premiered in 2021, will tell the last six years of the 20th century and the start of a new world with the arrival of 21st century and events such as the departure of Felipe González from Moncloa and the arrival of José María Aznar; the murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco; the weddings of the infantas Elena and Cristina; the deaths of Lola and Antonio Flores; the feared Y2K effect that threatened to paralyze the planet, or the attack on the Twin Towers in New York.

Each of the seven chapters of the series starring Imanol Arias and Ana Duato will be dedicated to one of the central characters of Tell me how it happened: Mercedes, Antonio, Inés, Toni, Carlos, María and Herminia. This is how he advances it Jacobo Delgado, script coordinator, who will write the season together with Sonia Sánchez and Manu Dios: "We are happy with the news. We are now starting to write the plots that will begin filming in a few months. There are going to be seven chapters with a lot of crumbs."

The last fiction episode broadcast to date, a good person, left viewers in September 1994 “with heavy hearts and unresolved plots” for the future of Oriol, Antonio and Mercedes' skinhead grandson. According to Delgado, “the new season will leave no question unanswered and will be ambitious in terms of plots and production values.”
