The Movistar Plus+ Toros channel ceases its broadcasts as its continuity is not viable
As of March 23, Movistar Plus+ will turn off the Toros channel given that, after more than 30 years of experience, “the new market situation and the emergence of new actors” make “continuity not viable.”
Movistar Plus+, and before Canal+, it had been more than three decades promoting and “passionately supporting” bullfighting in all its dimensions, offering fairs and live celebrations with top quality productions, generating all kinds of additional content around “the party” from the best professionals. Now, the market evolution leads to this channel ceasing to be viable.
Los residential customers They will be able to continue accessing on demand (VOD) through their decoder or on their devices to the bullfighting content that has been broadcast throughout the channel's history: fairs, historical celebrations and formats such as documentaries, reports and interviews. This measure will be communicated to all affected customers soon and Movistar will not charge them the corresponding amount for the Toros channel from March 1.
Taking advantage of the announcement, Movistar Plus+ wanted to dedicate some words of gratitude to “all the professionals in the sector, bullfighters, subordinates, ranchers, businessmen, representatives, fans... all those who contributed to consolidating this wonderful project, their support in the crucial moments that we have experienced together, such as especially the years of the pandemic.”
