Hitomi Broadcast Strengthens Cloud-Based Lip Sync Measurement
With the rapid growth of remote production and IP contribution, Hitomi Broadcast offers a simple and cost-effective solution for cloud-based lip sync measurement.
NAB 2023 attendees will be able to see a live demo of a version of MatchBox file based. Both MatchBox and the latest app MatchBox Glass para iPhone makes it even easier to align each camera source very quickly. In remote productions, such as those of large sporting events, where a large number of images are sent to the central control room, managing lip sync is essential.
The latest addition to MatchBox is the possibility of measure end-to-end latency on a broadcast route. Given the need to minimize latency, Hitomi now recommends using MatchBox Latency to set the delay on each circuit, before using MatchBox to synchronize images and sound.
The same MatchBox analyzer provides highly accurate readings of lip sync latency and offset, ensuring precision alignment based on data rather than trying to match it by eye.
Russell Johnson, director of Hitomi, comments that "NAB is a really important event for us, because you have to see how simple the MatchBox system is to realize how it can transform outdoor broadcasts and remote productions. It also gives us the opportunity to showcase the latest developments, such as our commitment to SMPTE ST2110, and our solutions for MatchBox in cloud architectures."
