Riedel Networks and Kalaam Carrier Solutions to offer comprehensive connectivity in motorsports

Riedel Networks, a Riedel group company, has partnered with Kalaam Carrier Solutions (KCS), the group's wholesale division Kalaam Telecom, to meet the needs of comprehensive network connectivity for motorsport events in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

To support real-time data transfer and broadcasting of one of the most active and data-intensive sports in the world, the partnership will provide ultra-reliable and robust connectivity throughout 2023 and beyond.

In collaboration with Riedel Networks and its national strategic partners, KCS provides multiservice connectivity from the racecourses of the Middle East to its partners in Europe and Asia. Riedel Networks uses KCS as a point of presence (POP) in the region, allowing the company to connect to its global POPs in Europe and Asia with ultra-low latency service level guarantees.

The solution will mainly use the cable system Kalaam Network Optical Transit (KNOT), a 1,400 kilometer land network spanning Kuwait, Bahrain, KSA, UAE and Qatar. This comprehensive network will allow racing teams to seamlessly share car and driver data, while also supporting social media platforms and broadcasters.

Riedel Networks and KCS signed the agreement in December 2022, with the POP coming into force a few weeks later, in time for the start of the motorsport season. The cutting-edge and environmentally friendly technology from Riedel Networks modernized the network nodes, optimizing the round-trip delay between Europe and racetracks in the MENA region by more than 15%.
