Aire Networks deploys Verimatrix watermark for live sports streaming

VideoMark, Verimatrix's client-side watermarking solution for live and on-demand video services, will protect VoD and live sports content on Aire Networks.

The Spanish operator Aire Networks has expanded its investment in technology Video Content Authority System (VCAS) of Verimatrix to include the supplier's watermark and improve the security of your premium streaming television anywhere.

VideoMark, Verimatrix's client-side watermarking solution for live and on-demand video services, will protect VoD content and live sports streamed over the premium OTT service Perseus TV de Aire to ensure compliance with subscription levels and permissions of content owners.

Aire's existing VCAS platform was initially implemented to enable seamless multi-screen viewing experiences for live and VOD content with cross-platform device support. The framework was implemented with long-term plans for VideoMark integration, providing a strong and scalable security foundation to make Perseo TV available globally to a potential audience of 4.5 million subscribers and eventually launch live sports, according to Verimatrix.

VideoMark protects Perseo TV's live sports streaming, which is currently available exclusively for professional use. The watermark ensures that those who access live sports on Perseo TV have the appropriate subscription level in accordance with the content owners' permissions.

When Aire Networks expands live sports streaming to residential use in the near future, VideoMark will also be used to prevent unlawful redistribution by quickly identifying broadcasts and shutting them down in real time. This works by embedding session-based watermarks that are unique, imperceptible, robust and secure. Additionally, because they are invisible to end users, the entire VideoMark process will not compromise the viewing experience.
