SeaChange has partnered with Civolution to offer the NexGuard forensic watermark for Premium Video on Demand (VOD).

SeaChange has partnered with Civolution to offer the NexGuard forensic watermark for Premium Video on Demand (VOD), a technology currently being worked on by DirecTV and soon to be adopted by Comcast and Time Warner Cable.

The watermark allows, by taking different samples of the video, to detect pirated content and identify the origin of the piracy.

NexGuard for cable video on demand includes a content pre-processing phase to ensure easy integration, scalability and maximum performance over streaming (MPEG-2 or H.264), being compatible with any VOD streaming server and all CAS and DRM encryption systems.

Alex Terpstra, CEO of Civolution, commented that "this technology is proven and fits the studios' requirements for first-run content to the home that is delivered before it is available on DVD and Blu-Ray discs. The combined solution will help SeaChange customers around the world launch compelling new services on their new or existing VOD platforms for cable and TV Everywhere."
