Nagra integrates its watermark into the Amazon Cloudfront Content Delivery Network (CDN)
The combined solution will offer an efficient and scalable way to combat the illegal distribution of video content from streaming services.
Nagra has integrated its watermarking solution NexGuard with the Content Delivery Network Amazon Cloudfront (CDN). The combined solution has been deployed commercially by a major Hollywood studio, allowing the content owner to stream their video content to viewers around the world in an efficient and highly scalable manner, while ensuring strong security and traceability of their premium assets.
Harrie Tholen, vice president of sales for anti-piracy and NexGuard solutions at Nagra, acknowledges that “we are delighted to expand our use of Amazon Web Services and provide the additional layer of security and traceability that content owners now require for the protection of premium content in pre-release and direct-to-consumer scenarios.”
“Con Cloudfront y su componente Lambda@Edge, Nagra es capaz de ofrecer marcas de agua forenses basadas en sesiones a los propietarios de contenido de una forma altamente escalable y segura. Utilizando un procesamiento seguro en el borde, ahora podemos dar servicio a millones de usuarios en todo el mundo con una reducción en la latencia de extremo a extremo”, añade Tholen.
The solution allows for session-based watermarking when streaming content to any device (PC, tablet, connected TV, video game console...) without the need to change player applications. The NexGuard watermark leverages streaming technology to create a unique watermark for each session in live and archived video streams, enabling service providers to fight illegal redistribution of their content. Supports Apple HLS, MPEG-DASH and all popular DRM methods, including Nagra PRM. Nagra also offers cloud-based anti-piracy monitoring and watermark detection services to identify and stop pirate sources in near real-time.
