Sapec leads the technological development of the CornerCam capture system

The Corner Cam has trusted the experience of Sapec to develop CornerCam, a solution that provides unprecedented shots from inside the soccer fields.

The R&D team of Sapec has worked for nearly two years in CornerCam, a system that is now a reality and replaces the classic corner flags with an advanced flag measuring 50 millimeters in diameter. This structure, ready for marketing once the Football Association Board (IFAB) approves the suitability of the equipment, integrates two cameras (one high and one at ground level) with 1080i resolution y horizontal remote scroll (BREAD); remote control capabilities via joystick, and wide viewing angles: 100º for the lower camera, and the entire vision around the corner for the upper one.

The signal captured in real time by both cameras is distributed directly to the mobile units via fiber optics. Sapec, aware that not all mobile units may have the possibility of having eight independent entrances, has created a preselection and multi-screen system with which an operator can select which camera to send to production control. CornerCam also stands out for integrating care mechanical system, also designed by Sapec, which allows the entire flag to be folded down if contact occurs with a player or if he is hit with a ball. Likewise, different adapters have been designed to integrate the solution into each playing field.

One of the partners of The Corner Cam, the former footballer and coach Alfonso Perez, highlights that "with The Corner Cam we intend to further elevate the televised spectacle of football by offering a unique vision from within the field of play itself. We are not here to replace any camera, but to add eight new points of view from the four corner flags." Likewise, Pérez values ​​Sapec's work very positively, highlighting "the brilliance in the professional and personal treatment, getting involved in even the smallest detail."

On the other hand, Javier Palenciano, commercial manager of Sapec, considers that this project "demonstrates that SAPEC is more than prepared to undertake developments of this caliber, with important conceptual, logistical, technical and operational challenges.
