‘Disassembling an elephant’, the new film by Arcadia (‘As Bestas’)
Arcadia, winner of the Goya for 'As Bestas' and responsible for titles such as 'Robot Dreams' and Mediterráneo', promotes 'Desmontado un elephant', Aitor Echeverría's debut film whose filming has already begun.
Dismounted an elephant, a feature film starring Goya winners Emma Suárez and Natalia de Molina, is defined as an intimate and exciting family portrait. The film marks the feature debut of Aitor Echeverría, who has a notable career as a director of photography (The grandson, Maria and the others, The Innocent, Home.
They accompany Arcadia Motion Pictures in the production of Disassembling an elephant Pegasus Pictures AIE and Noodles Production (France). The film, whose filming will take place over 5 weeks in locations in Barcelona, has the participation of RTVE, Movistar Plus+ and TVC, and the financing of ICAA, the support of ICEC and of Creative Europe MEDIA. It will be distributed in cinemas in Spain by Filmax.
This is the synopsis of Disassembling an elephant, whose script, which was one of the three finalists for the 2019 Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award awarded by the SGAE, has been written by four hands between Aitor Echeverría and Pep Garrido: "Marga (Emma Suárez), a successful architect, returns home after having spent two months in a rehabilitation center for an addiction problem with which her family lived in silence for years. After her arrival, Marga will try to rebuild her life above while her youngest daughter Blanca (Natalia de Molina) will see how the attention she pours on her mother affects both her relationships and her dream of being a professional dancer. A year later, “the elephant” is still as huge as ever, although at least now everyone can see it.
