The Walt Disney Company Iberia joins the Television Academy

The Television Academy has signed a collaboration agreement with The Walt Disney Company Iberia, which certifies that the entertainment company will join the Academy Council for the development and promotion of joint projects.

The signing took place at the headquarters of Disney in Madrid and has had the participation of the company's CEO in Spain, Simon Amselem, and the president of the Television Academy, Maria Casado. Disney will contribute to the Academy resources for carrying out activities aimed, among other objectives, at the promotion and defense of the public image of the sector as the engine of the cultural industry and the promotion of professional excellence in the audiovisual industry in Spain.

Amsel explains how at Disney “we firmly believe in initiatives aimed at promoting the audiovisual sector in our country, and that is why we are delighted to join the Television Academy.” “This is an institution that has demonstrated its commitment to a sector that is experiencing a fantastic moment and to which we are contributing decisively through our commitment to production in Spain,” he adds.

On the other hand, Maria Casado, which defines The Walt Disney Company Iberia as a “very large international company”, considers that through this agreement the objective of “continuing to build an increasingly representative Academy” is fulfilled. Furthermore, Casado considers that "the Institution as a meeting point for Spanish audiovisual production must convey to society the different points of view of the actors that coexist in it and promote their participation in joint reflection on the challenges, opportunities and future of a key sector for the Spanish cultural industry."
