Teradek opens the doors to a new era in Europe with the green light for 6Ghz and Prism Mobile
One more year, Teradek (To be seen) has not missed his appointment with IBC 2023, exposing its broadcast solutions (such as the Prism Mobile backpack) and opening the door to new possibilities for the Teradek Bolt 6.
Relay solutions continue to be essential equipment for the staff of television engineering and production companies, which explains the high attendance at stands such as the one at Teradek in IBC 2023, which has brought a large selection of its live production solutions led by two new features.
The first of them, the new backpack 5G Prism Mobile, is a 5G/LTE solution that is based on the Prism Mobile encoder 4K capable of offering up to six mobile connections thanks to its extensive connectivity options and its four 5G Node modems. Designed for the coverage of highly demanding live events, the system offers a versatile solution that allows you to exchange modems, encoders and power “at will” in order to optimize your coverage in each situation. Responding to major industry demands, the Prism Mobile has the ability to upload recordings from the field directly to cloud-based camera platforms such as Frame.io, Sony C3P and Sony Ci, as well as the ability to monitor and distribute live streams from Core Cloud (Teradek).
The second major pillar of Teradek's presence at IBC 2023 is the free firmware update of Bolt 6, that allows the operation of the frequency band 6Ghz recently approved by the European Union and the United Kingdom. This improvement, which is combined with the possibility of continuing to operate with Bolt 4K systems in 5Ghz, promises a higher wireless performance on set, thus optimizing RF environments and reducing signal congestion. The upgrade is now available on all models Bolt 6 XT y LT (750, 1500 and MAX).
