Sennheiser strengthens the MKH 8000 condenser microphone series with a filter module

The new MZF 8000 II filter module, compatible with the MKH 8000 family of condenser microphones Sennheiser, allows you to block out low-frequency wind and handling noise.

While shotgun microphones MKH 8060 y MKH 8070 come factory-equipped with a low-cut filter to eliminate wind and structure-borne noise, other microphones in the series MKH 8000 they are not. For these cases, the new filter module MZF 8000 II has a 10 dB switchable pad of high quality, as well as a cut of bass switchable at 70 Hz (-3 dB) and a fixed bass cut at 16 Hz (3 dB), both with an improved filter slope of 18 dB/oct. These thresholds and values ​​have been defined by Sennheiser with the collaboration of users in the family MKH 8000.

The switchable pad 10 dB The MZF 8000 II limits the audio signal from noisy sources, ensuring that the input stage of the connected recorder is not saturated. Likewise, the filter module It has extremely low inherent self-noise to preserve complex acoustic details. With a diameter of 19 mm and a length of only 29 mm, the compact module can be screwed directly to the microphone or added remotely, for example to the end of an MZL cable, for applications where the microphone needs to be as discreet as possible.
